Porsche has turned its legendary 911 Carrera RS 2.7 into a uber-luxurious coffee machine

Porsche has found another way to bring its automotive heritage into the home, and this time it involves something most people use every morning. The German sports carmaker has teamed up with Italian espresso machine specialist La Marzocco for a limited-edition coffee machine inspired by the legendary 1972 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7. Called the Linea Micra Porsche x La Marzocco, the machine takes design cues from one of the most celebrated 911 models ever built, including its distinctive colors, graphics, and iconic rear spoiler. It is the second collaboration between the two companies, following their first joint collection in 2024, which was inspired by Porsche’s motorsport history and the Martini Racing livery. The new collection was unveiled at the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen, Germany.

The most interesting detail is perhaps the cup rail sitting on top of the espresso machine, which takes inspiration from the famous ducktail spoiler of the original Carrera RS 2.7. Porsche and La Marzocco have also incorporated Carrera RS lettering, historic Porsche logos, and black handles carrying laser-engraved RS and 2.7 markings. Even the analogue pressure gauges feature red and green indicators resembling those found in Porsche’s instrument panels, while a special magnetic RS 2.7 badge and a limited-edition plaque complete the design.

Buyers can choose from three color combinations, although getting hold of one will not be particularly easy. The Grand Prix White with Green and Tangerine with Black versions are each limited to 911 units, while the Grand Prix White with Blue edition is restricted to just 150 examples and is available exclusively in Germany. The latter is easily the rarest of the three, although all versions share the same underlying espresso machine.

Underneath the Porsche-inspired exterior, the Linea Micra retains the functionality of La Marzocco’s compact home espresso machine. It features a convertible three-in-one portafilter, an insulated steam wand, a two-liter water reservoir, integrated LED barista lights, and analogue pressure gauges. Its brew lever combines the traditional feel of a mechanical paddle with an electric switch, while the La Marzocco Home app allows owners to adjust brewing temperatures and manage machine settings remotely.

The espresso machine is accompanied by a matching La Marzocco Pico coffee grinder, featuring an adjustable magnetic portafilter fork and an auto-close bean hopper. The wider collection also includes espresso and cappuccino cups, coffee canisters, barista towels, coasters, clothing, and miniature 1:18-scale Carrera RS 2.7 models accompanied by miniature espresso machines.

The Porsche x La Marzocco Linea Micra is priced at €5,790 in Europe, while the matching Pico grinder costs another €1,550. That brings the complete coffee-making setup to €7,340 before accessories. In the United States, the machine is reported to cost $7,911, with the grinder priced at $2,125. Porsche is also making the collection available through selected Porsche Centers, Porsche Design Stores, and its online shop.

For a company whose identity is so closely connected with the 911, turning the Carrera RS 2.7 into a luxury coffee machine is an unusual but rather fitting tribute. After all, the ducktail spoiler has spent decades making Porsche enthusiasts look twice, and now it has found a rather different job holding coffee cups.
