Baccarat is seeing several collaborations lately, be it with Lancôme, Duval-Leroy or Piper-Heidsieck. Which is no surprise given the French crystal maker’s knack of mixing well with all things extravagant! Probably why leading French atelier for luxury bath, THG Paris has joined floral hands with the fine crystal label. By that I am referring to Pétale de Cristal, their exceptional new range of bath fittings in opulent crystal.
Created by THG collaborator and hospitality designer extraordinaire Pierre-Yves Rochon, the collection has delicate lotus flower as inspiration. It follows his successful, long-time collaboration with THG. Rochon began his relationship with the luxury brand in 2005, which resulted in exquisite interiors in major hotels including the Shangri-La Hotel and George V Four Seasons Hotel in Paris, as well as The Savoy in London and The Peninsula in Shanghai, among others.
His latest artistic outing is touted as one of the most exciting collections crafted in THG’s extensive roster of fine luxury fittings. The brilliant and dynamic Baccarat colored crystal handles appear in a diverse range of rich colors. There are deep reds, bold blues and the mysterious and unexpected black with a choice of clear or gold accented detailing.
To the uninitiated, transparency and color are among some of crystal’s most important qualities and the emblematic Baccarat Red is one of the world’s most distinguished and recognized colored crystals. The creation of Baccarat Red is a world of alchemy, developed by adding gold to special elements at a specific temperature. Baccarat is said to then have made Baccarat Red their signature color after mastering this process in the late 1830’s.
