One of the most revered hotels in the world, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc has unveiled a captivating way to celebrate its 150-year legacy on the French Riviera. Bringing the magic of the Côte d’Azur to the tabletop is a bilingual, custom-created Monopoly game restricted to just 500 copies worldwide. Crafted by Nice-based artist Haydée Otero, the board utilizes hand-painted collages in vibrant blues and greens to capture breathtaking Cap d’Antibes landmarks like the Grande Allée and Fontaine aux Tortues.

A favorite touch in this timeless game is the set of six gold-colored Riviera emblems replacing the traditional Monopoly pieces. Players can navigate the board using an Eden-Roc buoy, a director’s chair honoring the Cannes Film Festival, the main hotel building, an Autobianchi Bianchina Eden-Roc cabriolet, a Queen Elizabeth rose, or tennis racquets nodding to the property’s Aleppo pine-shaded courts. This homage extends to the custom banknotes featuring the Pavillon Eden-Roc, home to the legendary heated seawater infinity pool physically carved out of Mediterranean cliff rock in 1914.

Every square represents a specific place, service, or chapter of hotel history, with even the tax spaces reflecting the property’s heritage and commitments. Elevating the gameplay further, the Chance and Community Chest cards offer uniquely luxurious surprises, ranging from a private tasting at the Michelin-starred Louroc restaurant to a highly coveted game of pétanque with hotel CEO Philippe Perd. Launched in 1870 as Villa Soleil, the 22-acre estate has long served as a posh sanctuary for American political royalty like the Kennedy family, alongside literary and artistic icons including Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, Zelda Fitzgerald, Cole Porter, and John Dos Passos.

Hollywood legends Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were also famous loyalists of the secluded haven. Today, the manicured Mediterranean property houses just 119 luxury rooms and suites with nightly rates reaching $5,500, making this limited-edition board game a highly sought-after piece of Riviera real estate. Priced at €280, or roughly $300, the exclusive set is available while supplies last at the on-site Eden-Roc Riviera Collection boutique and online at www.edenrocrivieracollection.com.
