Forget his $300 million French château. Saudi Crown Prince MBS also owns a 620-acre hunting estate so vast it could swallow California’s entire Disneyland Resort, including its theme parks and hotels, and still have 120 acres to spare

In expected princely fashion, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman owns a string of luxurious assets. His gilded life is defined by record-breaking acquisitions, from the extraordinary $300 million French residence Château Louis XIV purchased in 2015 to the $450 million Leonardo da Vinci painting Salvator Mundi and the $500 million superyacht Serene. Beyond these famous possessions and his heavily guarded palaces in Riyadh, there is one overlooked luxury asset, a sprawling 620-acre country estate in France called Le Rouvray.

Located in Condé-sur-Vesgre, west of Paris, it offers a complete contrast in style and spirit to Château Louis XIV. Unlike the 57-acre chateau designed to replicate a 17th-century palace, Le Rouvray is a country retreat almost 11 times as large that prioritizes absolute seclusion and private hunting grounds, reported the Daily Mail. To make it fit for a prince, plans were drawn to refurbish its manor house while renovating and expanding ancillary buildings for hunting-day guests and staff.

The compound was scheduled to be delivered in September 2025, with work carried out by French construction company Pradeau Morin, an Eiffage Group business specializing in high-end restoration. Let’s take a closer look at this extravagant estate that is roughly 20% larger than the entire principality of Monaco, reserved for one ultra-wealthy royal-

The magnificent Manoir du Rouvray-

While the hunting estate is expectedly expansive at 620 acres, large enough to accommodate the equivalent of more than 34 White House grounds, the main manor spans approximately 32,292 square feet. It was refurbished to suit the lifestyle of the Saudi Arabian royal, who is currently revolutionizing luxury tourism in his kingdom. The renovation team upgraded the ancillary buildings to enlarge accommodation for personnel and guests while preparing the estate to continue operating as a hunting retreat, reported AB Prestige Mobelier.

Rather than a rustic hunting lodge, the renovated space resembles a sophisticated French classical interior. Public images reveal a stately reception room with parquet flooring, decorative wall paneling, a substantial stone fireplace, delicate blue-toned floral motifs, and an ornate gilt chandelier. Exterior photographs show cream-colored masonry, prominent French windows, classical detailing, slate roofing, and pristine landscaping. Aesthetically, the lodge shares a clear design lineage with Château Louis XIV. However, its intended use remains distinct. Josette Jean, the former mayor of Condé-sur-Vesgre, told Le Figaro that the new owner specifically assured her the estate was a hunting property and would remain one.

MBS purchased the Le Rouvray just months after the flamboyant Château Louis XIV. While the chateau recreated Versailles-era opulence, the hunting estate enhances a different type of luxury. It emphasizes land, absolute privacy, traditional French country living, and the social prestige of a private hunt, which are qualities modern royals often value even more than the gilded interiors they already possess in abundance.
