New York’s priciest penthouse just sold for over $100 million!

House hunting can be quite a drag, but if you’re lucky, you might just find the home of your dreams. And if you’re luckier still, your home purchase will make the headlines and set a new world record! An unnamed buyer recently acquired the unique distinction of owning the most expensive apartment in New York. The mystery millionaire shelled out a whopping $100,471,452.77 for his new home dethroning the $88 million Central Park West from its “Most Expensive” title.

This is more than just a matchbox flat in Manhattan though, the apartment is a luxurious duplex occupying the 89th and 90th floor of a 306 m tower called the One57 that overlooks Central Park. The penthouse boasts an area of 10,923 square feet and includes six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two powder rooms and, of course, the mandatory views of Central Park. The building features glass exterior walls and all apartments in the building have high ceilings, rosewood floors and marble bathrooms.
