Review: Eauzone, One&Only Royal Mirage, Dubai: Our love affair with Asian food with a twist

One&Only Royal Mirage, the gorgeous beachfront resort is without a doubt, one of Dubai’s most regal properties. That being said, it also houses some of the city’s best culinary bets. During my recent Dubai trip, I happened to spend a day at the opulent hotel where vaulted arches, grand domes, hand-painted ceilings and Bedouin statues greeted me.

The manicured gardens and pools interspersed with palm-tree islands were enough to take my breath away. As if this wasn’t enough, the culinary magic at their Eauzone Restaurant began to cast its spell on me. Nestled between the pool and beach, the restaurant is bathed by the blue of the sky and sea. As we contemplated the rhythm of ocean tides and the setting sun while admiring the shaded wooden decks and floating “Majilis” overlooking the Gulf and translucent pool, we were left just swooning at the ambience.

As we read through the menu that spoilt us for choice, the staff was more than eager to give in their recommendation and be at our service. We started our meal with the Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls which were spiced just right and the freshness of the ingredients spoke for themselves. The dim sum- platter was delicate, flavourful, crunchy and had all the attributes of lip-smacking dim-sums.

We were also wowed by the flavours of the Wok Fried Beef Tenderloin which was so well-marinated that we didn’t want to share. The Nasi Goreng with sambal sauce had such a nuanced flavour and was a notable standout from the mains. There is also no denying that the Fusilli Marinara with garlicky sautéed chicken and the goodness of herbs and veggies was spot-on.

For dessert, the Lapis Surabaya which was layered moist cake with strawberry and cinnamon is something that heaven tastes like. A blow-dry at the Alexandre Zouari Salon followed where ace hairstylist Rami Ghazzoul worked his magic on my tresses. With more volume than bounce, the master of backcomb ensured that my locks stayed up all night long which got me my red-carpet moment.

My culinary and beauty experience at the property was just as grand as the property. I found the staff and service to be friendly, attentive and discreet. Smitten by the hotel’s grandeur, hospitality, service that shines and culinary nirvana, I am left pondering over and planning my next experience at the luxurious wonderland.
