Cristiano Ronaldo has ordered a rare $1.3 million convertible Mercedes G-Wagon that reflects his new life in Saudi Arabia

Cristiano Ronaldo has spent most of his career turning excess into personal branding, so perhaps it was inevitable that his latest automotive purchase would feel less like a luxury SUV and more like a commissioned artifact. The Portuguese superstar has reportedly ordered a bespoke Refined Marques Mercedes-AMG G63 Cabriolet, one of only 20 examples being built worldwide, with a specification that appears designed to reflect his current life in Saudi Arabia as much as his taste in automobiles.

At around $1.3 million, the G63 Cabriolet sits in a strange corner of the luxury car world where engineering, fashion, celebrity culture, and Gulf extravagance all collide. The standard Mercedes-AMG G63 is already one of the most recognizable status symbols on the planet, favored by athletes, musicians, oligarchs, and influencers who want military styling wrapped in luxury leather and twin-turbo V8 performance. Refined Marques has taken that formula and pushed it into something far more theatrical.

The Dubai-based firm transformed the G63 into a full convertible with a soft-top roof, a modification that sounds deceptively simple until one remembers that the modern G-Class was never intended to lose its roof structure. The project reportedly took more than a year of development and involved engineers with backgrounds in Formula 1 and high-performance automotive design. Rear suicide doors complete the transformation and give the SUV the silhouette of something caught between a Maybach landaulet and an ultra-luxury beach cruiser built for a billionaire coastline.

Ronaldo’s example is believed to wear the yellow and blue colors associated with Al-Nassr, the Saudi club that has become the defining chapter of his post-European career. That detail matters because it transforms the vehicle from another expensive toy into a rolling declaration of identity. Ronaldo has owned Bugattis, Ferraris, Rolls-Royces, and enough limited-production hypercars to fill a private museum, yet this G63 Cabriolet feels unusually personal even by his standards.

There is also something revealing about where this car comes from. A decade ago, the world’s most outrageous coachbuilt SUVs were emerging from German tuning houses. Today, some of the boldest luxury commissions are tied to Dubai and the Gulf, where the appetite for exclusivity has evolved far beyond traditional supercars. The Refined Marques Cabriolet exists because there is now a global clientele wealthy enough to demand a million-dollar convertible G-Wagon that almost nobody else on earth can own. For Ronaldo, it is simply the latest extension of a lifestyle built around visibility. Even parked, this thing is designed to perform.
