If ever there was any doubt about whether a multimillion-dollar hypercar is worth the money, Bugatti is here to remove even the last traces. Late last year, American millionaire and multi-Bugatti owner Shannon Ralston reached out to Bugatti to see if they could solve the problem of her drinks spilling in her $4 million Chiron Super Sport.
The company immediately got on the job designing and mocking up a design that could fit into her car with no permanent modifications. Bugatti’s design director, Frank Heyl, himself seems to have spearheaded the project by creating Bugatti’s first ever cupholder in the process.
With the research and development phase complete, Heyl has posted an update video showing Ralston how her new cupholder will snap into place. The video includes usage of the cupholder and some of its special features which include rubber strips to better hold beverages under the extreme cornering forces the Chiron is capable of. Now that the final mockup of Bugatti’s first cupholder is ready, the next stage is production.
We imagine the final product will be made of carbon fiber or something as exotic, trimmed in materials fitting of being in a $4 million hypercar. How’s that for customer service?
