Dolly Parton is as glamorous as free-spirited. The American singer-songwriter, and actress, journeyed 360,000 miles in her personalized Prevost bus. Averse to flying, this home on wheels was her solution to shuttling across the country. “I have homes all over the United States, but my favorite place is the bus because that way I can just feel those wheels rolling,” Parton said. Suite 1986 can now be your temporary refuge Dolly Parton style as Dollywood DreamMore Resort & Spa in Pigeon Forge is taking reservations for $10,000 for a two-night stay.
The one-of-a-kind tour bus that looks like a giant Rimowa suitcase with its glitzy exterior comes with Dolly’s signature emblazoned on it. It provides the perfect photo-op before embarking on an adventure.
On entering the grand tour bus, you’re met with warm-hued interiors, a tiled floor, and ample seating in the form of an upholstered couch on one side and a table with a semi-circular bench on the other, ideal for meals.
Further inside, one notices recessed areas in the walls and enclosed cabinets that store everything from a brightly decorated guitar, dream catcher, and storage for her many wigs (Miley Cyrus’s godmother owns more than 300 wigs). According to Dollywood Parks & Resorts, it is inside this bus Parton wrote songs like “Backwoods Barbie” and “9 to 5: the Musical.”
The 45-foot bus includes a large decorated bedroom, something out of an Arabian fairytale with deep rosy hues, floral furnishings, fresh flowers, and a giant pink bed.
The bus is packed with Dolly Parton memorabilia, themed toiletries, and her personal touches. Guests of the suite participate in a VIP dinner and leave with unique gifts. A portion of the proceeds from every stay at the Suite 1986 Tour Bus Experience goes towards the Dollywood Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library,” according to Knox News.
The walls, too, are enhanced with vibrant murals illustrating life on the road, and the bedroom features floor-to-ceiling pink and purple decor, from the bedspread to the custom-painted ceiling, as per Knox News.
For $10,000, the Dolly Parton bus experience sleeps two guests, and the reservation comes with an additional DreamMore room that sleeps four.
The bus is in a gated space outside DreamMore with a restaurant and amenities in the vicinity for a wholesome experience. “I loved all my time on the bus, I was traveling with my friend Judy (Ogle), my best friend from Sevierville. We’ve been friends since we were in the third grade and we just traveled all those miles together,” Parton said. “But we’ve had lots of wonderful memories of people that would come on the bus to visit, when we traveled around, dignitaries, stars, everybody, but all the memories are special to me.”
