There were subtle clues from the start, five decks packed into a 153-footer akin to a woman’s multitasking grace, a softer explorer profile, and a dedicated sanctuary of solace. The ER 46 Yacht Concept could only have been commissioned by a woman. Megayacht News confirmed as much, reporting that the design originated when a female client requested an explorer yacht with a distinctive, deeply personal character.

In response, ER Yacht Design conceived a vessel defined by sweeping curves and continuous bands of dark glass. It is an enigma much like feminine energy, delicate yet strong, promising globetrotting capabilities despite what initial appearances might suggest. The proposed 499 GT ship is designed to traverse oceans without resembling a warship, maintaining the elegance of a yacht that transcends time and trends.

Spanning a beam of over 31 feet, the ER 46 is designed to accommodate 12 guests across six staterooms. While guest quarters are tucked away on the lower deck, the owner’s suite establishes an entirely new benchmark. Reigning over her vessel like a queen, she would wake up in a penthouse-like master suite, detached from the rest of the onboard party. Sunrises could be enjoyed in total serenity from private sitting areas and alfresco spaces.

Balancing a five-deck arrangement on a 153 foot hull was the design’s primary challenge, yet it ultimately resulted in dedicated zones for privacy, social gatherings, and relaxation. Aft, the skylounge offers laid-back seating, while the main deck features an expansive salon and dining area seamlessly linked to open-air lounging. It may not be the largest yacht on the marina but the concept is holistic and features everything from a dedicated beach club, to a spa, and wellness gym.

Interestingly, the spectrum of creation at ER Yacht Design is remarkably varied. Anchoring one end is the graceful, serene ER 46 concept; on the other lies Gotham, an aggressive 46-meter sports superyacht whose brooding aesthetic drew instant comparisons to Batman. The Vancouver-based studio was founded in 1999 by naval architect Ivan Erdevicki, whose studio developed the design of the ER 46.
