Oceanco has partnered with legendary car design firm Pininfarina for a 262-feet superyacht concept that has a futuristic yet graceful design

Iconic Italian design house Pininfarina is best known for designing some of the most legendary Ferrari models, including the Ferrari 250 GT, F40, and Enzo. However, the studio’s creative expertise extends well beyond the boundaries of the automotive world. What you see here is an uber-elegant superyacht concept named Kairos 80 designed by Pininfarina. Measuring 80 meters in length, this sleek vessel is part of Oceanco’s Simply Custom collection and uses a naval platform developed by Lateral Naval Architects.

Oceanco introduced the Simply Custom concept last year at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to simplify the superyacht commissioning process. It provides world-renowned designers with a blank canvas and a proven naval platform to create unique superyachts for discerning customers. The visually striking Kairos 80 concept is actually not new. It has been adapted from a previous 90-meter collaboration between Pininfarina and Oceanco that debuted in 2021.

The vessel’s name originates from an ancient Greek word that means “the right or critical moment.” The blade-like exterior of the Kairos 80 is dominated by sharp, angular lines that give it a futuristic look. Designer Daniele Mazzon describes the concept as “a peaceful oasis in which to relax and enjoy time on your own terms.” According to Pininfarina, the concept follows a “360-degree” design approach that “connects you to the sea below, to the light above and to the spaces and people beside you.”

The superyacht’s unconventional design philosophy is highlighted by its asymmetrical shape, with each deck featuring distinctive contours. The sleek, darkened windows run the entire length of the structure and beautifully blend into the overall design. The studio’s renderings show an aft helipad, a stylish bar, and a hot tub at the front of the sundeck. There are also plenty of alfresco areas for relaxation, dining, and socializing. Details of the interior have yet to be revealed.
