A new wave of luxury is taking over Saudi Arabia’s northwest region. No, it is not Neom, but Red Sea Global’s Amaala, a new coastal lifestyle destination like no other. Expect an array of spectacular resorts, an exclusive yacht club, a marine life institute, and much more. A cocoon of luxury, wellbeing, and sustainability, the Amaala megaproject will rise inside the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve, spanning over 4,000 km² with about 68 km of pristine shoreline. It is positioned as the crown jewel of Red Sea Global’s coastal developments and a flagship Vision 2030 tourism project.
Out of the 12 resorts set to be developed, the first phase will launch with well-renowned names like Equinox Resort and Residences, Four Seasons Resort and Residences, Nammos Resort, Rosewood Resort, and Six Senses, together offering more than 1,600 keys. With top-notch accommodations comes an experience meant to be remembered, anchored by the Triple Bay Marina and the Amaala Yacht Club designed by HKS with interiors by ROAM.
The marina itself is one of Amaala’s most distinctive signatures. Triple Bay Marina was deliberately mapped as a natural “lung-shaped” harbor, a layout specifically engineered to host regattas, superyachts, and sailing fleets without disrupting marine habitats. It is a sustainable design choice that also enhances maneuverability and creates a dramatic visual identity from both sea and air.
Adding to the exclusivity, several ultra-luxury villas will feature their own private docks, a rare amenity typically reserved for the most secluded Caribbean islands. This private-docking tier creates an unmatched sense of arrival and privacy for yacht-owning guests. The Amaala Yacht Club elevates the destination’s design language even further. ROAM’s interiors lean into high drama, featuring a mirrored vaulted ceiling that reflects the sea, a star-lit floor effect that shimmers at night, and a bold oversized arrival arch perfectly framing the Red Sea.
These elements are visually striking, and they stand out beautifully in editorial photography, making the yacht club a future icon for luxury publications. Spanning about 7,900 m² across four levels, the yacht club complements a state-of-the-art marina that will offer as many as 116 berths for superyachts up to 140 meters. Amaala aims to free yacht owners from relying solely on the Caribbean or the Mediterranean for a luxurious year-round haven. It is positioned as the world’s most exclusive year-round yachting destination.
But Amaala brings far more than leisure.
The development will feature the Corallium Marine Life Institute, the Marina Village, and a 5 km Wellness Route that links hotels and experiences through coves and mountain trails, creating a seamless coastal narrative. Come 2027, Amaala will host the Grand Finale of The Ocean Race, the first time in the event’s 50-year history that the finish will take place in the Red Sea rather than Europe.
The exceptional project is expected to create around 50,000 jobs and contribute about $3 billion annually to Saudi Arabia’s GDP once fully operational, while drawing around 500,000 visitors each year. The destination is also designed to run on 100% renewable energy with a zero-operational-carbon target, setting a powerful precedent for future coastal luxury developments.
