When it comes to first and business class, airlines now-a-days are transforming their cabins into a different level of luxury altogether, with some of them even referred to as “residences in the sky.” Skytrax, often referred to as the “Oscars of the aviation industry,” recently announced its winners for the best in airline first and business class, among others, at its 2017 World Airline Awards.
UAE national airline, Etihad bagged the World’s Best First Class Award. It was triple honors all the way for Etihad having also bagged World’s Best First Class Onboard Catering, and World’s Best First Class Airline Seat for its First Apartments and Suites. Etihad has re-imagined flying with its first class suites where flyers can take advantage of a 6’10” bed, an armchair, a full length wardrobe, and doors that close to provide a more private experience. There’s even an on-board shower.
Four time winner Qatar Airways bagged the most prestigious award of them all by winning the World’s Best Airline Award. If that wasn’t enough, the airline also went on to win the World’s Best Business Class and World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge. Earlier this year, Qatar unveiled its new QSuite business class seats, the first seats in business class that can be converted into a double bed for two passengers.
