Tag Heuer launches special edition Carrera NISMO Watch to celebrate Nissan’s Le Mans entry

TAG Heuer has introduced a special edition watch to celebrate Nissan’s return to the premier class of the Le Mans 24 Hours with the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO. Dubbed as the TAG Heuer Carrera “NISMO” special edition, the timepiece was launched yesterday ahead of the 24 hours of Le Mans weekend. The Tag Heuer Carrera NISMO watch features an ultra-light black-titanium case with a 43-mm diameter. It comes with soft-touch matte alligator straps embellished with red topstitching. The dial is also made from titanium that has been micro-blasted with titanium carbide making the watch extremely resilient and lighter than steel.

The special edition Carrera NISMO watch is equipped with Tag Heuer’s famous caliber 16 movement and has a scratch-proof ceramic bezel along with a tachometer for measuring average speed. The red-and-black theme of the Nissan racing team is reflected on the face of the watch as well as the NISMO logos that adorn the dial and bezel. “The NISMO brand is all about the desire for something extra, something innovative,” said Darren Cox, NISMO’s Global Head of Brand, Marketing & Sales. “And the desirability of TAG Heuer timepieces is world renowned, so a NISMO special edition TAG Heuer watch is a great way to mark our partnership.” There is no word on the price and availability of the special edition timepiece.
