The LAPD adds a swanky Lamborghini Gallardo to its patrol car fleet

By now everybody knows about the Dubai Police Department and its massive fleet of exotic cars. Though the line-up of cars the Dubai Police owns is massively impressive and police departments in other countries can only wish for something similar as most of them are too cash-strapped for such ostentatious publicity stunts, but finally there is some competition from another PD. Los Angeles Police Department is the latest to join the bandwagon by adding a Lamborghini Gallardo to its fleet wrapped with in department’s traditional black-and-white paintjob.

The Lamborghini Gallardo has been loaned to the LAPD by a local couple Nathalie and Travis Marg of L.A.-based Light Source 1, Inc. and is a first generation model, which means it’s powered by a V10 engine producing 520hp. It might not sound so cool in front of the Dubai Police fleet which includes some of the best cars in the world like the Bugatti Veyron, Aston Martin One-77, Lamborghini Aventador and Ferrari FF, but where the LAPD Lambo trumps is the black and white livery of the car which instantly reminds us of the Need for Speed pursuit car. But sadly the Gallardo won’t roll down the streets to keep a check on crime and rather will only be used as a charity vehicle.
