The new BMW M2 Coupe Edition Black Shadow is a pocket-rocket with a sinister dark theme

BMW’s performance wing, the M division, has launched a special edition of the performance-oriented M2 to celebrate the sales success of its most popular model line. With worldwide sales of more than 12,000 units, the BMW M2 was the most successful model from the German automaker’s line-up in 2017. The new BMW M2 Coupe Edition Black Shadow sports a dramatic, sinister look with the black finish and other treatments. Available exclusively in Sapphire Black metallic, the special edition arrives on19-inch, black matte forged light alloys with a Y-spoke design. Accentuating the overall dark theme is the carbon finish on the door mirrors and rear diffuser. Black chrome tailpipes and decorative grille for the M kidney and trim bars for the side panels in high-gloss black complete the special touches on the outside.

Mechanically the car is identical to the standard M2 model, so it retains a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight six that produces 370 horsepower. The power is sent to the rear wheels and with the optional seven-speed dual-clutch transmission the M2 can hit 62mph from a standstill in just 44.3 seconds. The BMW M2 Black Edition will be available from April 2018, though the pricing is yet to confirmed.
