Long before Mansory’s wild Lambo builds, Swiss tuner Garage R Affolter created ten outrageous Lamborghini Diablo Evolution GTRs, and this half-million-dollar example is now up for grabs

One of just ten Lamborghini Diablo Evolution GTR models ever produced is heading to auction through Broad Arrow, and this exceptionally rare supercar is expected to command up to half a million dollars. The 1993 example represents the pinnacle of flamboyant Swiss tuning in the ‘90s, making it one of the most sought-after dealer-modified Lamborghinis in existence. With its extreme rarity, this Italian exotic should find takers from the likes of elite collectors worldwide when it goes under the hammer.

The Diablo Evolution GTR came from the vision of Roland Affolter, a Swiss racing driver and tuner who founded Garage R Affolter in Wangen an der Aare. Long before Mansory made a name building extreme Lamborghinis, Affolter was the go-to specialist for wealthy clients seeking more exclusive and more attention-grabbing supercars, that is apart from being Lamborghini’s official Swiss importer. His workshop also transformed standard Diablos into homologation specials for GT racing.

The Diablo Evolution GTR featured styling tweaks, ditching the pop-up headlights for recessed units, a roof-mounted air intake, three-piece telephone dial wheels, and a full body kit. The massive rear wing with three levels of downforce rounds off the Evolution GTR package. The high-strung V12 engine stayed in its stock 485-horsepower tune, plenty for a rear-wheel drive Italian supercar with no electronic safety nets.

This particular example has lived an interesting life. Chassis number 12855 was originally finished in Giallo Fly, a signature Lambo yellow over Nero black interiors. The car was then converted to its Evolution GTR spec. It recently underwent a complete refinishing in 2025 and now wears a striking Viola exterior on blue Alcantara interiors. This mint Diablo only has 21,017 miles on the clock, and it’s been fully serviced by Lamborghini itself.

Broad Arrow’s Zurich auction has become known for presenting museum-quality vehicles, and this GTR fits perfectly within that roster. Finding another Diablo Evolution GTR for sale is nearly impossible, given the production run of just ten units. This auction represents a genuine opportunity for collectors seeking the ultimate Diablo variant from an era when Swiss tuning houses defined automotive excess.
