A series of images revealing Drake’s $185 million private aircraft, designed by Virgil Abloh, gives us a solid insight into high-net-worth celebrities’ obsession with luxurious aircraft. Air Drake is a colossal Boeing 767 private plane, a lavish testament to his appreciation for the finer things in life.
The late designer Virgil Abloh breathed new life and beauty into this gift, boasting a whopping 206-ton cargo capacity and a 20,000-gallon fuel tank. This unusually larger-than-life gift came from Canadian cargo carrier Cargojet back in 2019.
Cargojet’s president and CEO, Ajay Virmani, expressed excitement about partnering with Drake: “We have had a lengthy relationship with Drake, and this partnership has grown organically between both parties. Cargojet and Drake are both great Canadian successes, and we are thrilled to be partnering together,” Virmani said in 2019. Page Six revealed what the mammoth $185 million refurbished asset now looks like, and it’s glorious.
The first thing that catches the eye is the custom paint job, covered in a unique sky blue and white cloud-like design, with the words ‘If you’re reading this we left’ under the aircraft’s belly. Inside, the jet accommodates 30 people in a layout featuring plush velvet sofas and luxurious leather armchairs, three private suites, two living rooms, and a bathroom with a shower.
Comfort and entertainment are found in equal measures for long-haul flights. The Boeing 767 includes several leather recliners, a theater room, a business lounge for work, and a relaxed entertainment room.
The interiors are lavish, with a balanced mix of gold and wood surfaces. The ambient interior features an eye-catching striped carpet under the subtle beige and light purple furniture. Whether playing games, watching a movie, discussing music, or simply lounging around, there’s nothing the Canadian rapper, worth $250 million, cannot do 30,000 feet in the air.
