Not Mark Zuckerberg or Jensen Huang, but Elon Musk is predicted to become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027, according to a research group

Elon Musk currently sits on top of the list of the world’s wealthiest people, with a net worth of around $250 billion. However, a new report from a group that tracks wealth predicts that the Tesla CEO will become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027. The Informa Connect Academy report considers the average annual growth rate of Musk’s wealth of 110% to predict that his net worth will quadrulap over the next three years, making him the first person to enter the trillion-dollar club. It’s unbelievable to imagine an individual’s wealth to cross the trillion-dollar-mark, considering Apple became the first company to achieve the feat only six years ago. The same report also claims that Tesla will also join companies like Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia to attain a market cap of more than a trillion dollars by 2025 thanks to its stellar average annual growth rate of close to 173%. Currently, the American EV maker has a valuation of $669 billion.

According to Forbes’ billionaires list, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Oracle’s Larry Ellison, and LVMH’s owners Bernard Arnault and family are right behind Musk in the same order. However, the analysis by Informa Connect Academy claims it would be Indian business conglomerate owner Gautam Adani who would become the second person in history to achieve the trillionaire status. The report predicts the Indian billionaire will join the trillionaire club by 2028 if he is able to maintain his annual growth rate of 123%. According to the report, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and the Indonesian energy and mining magnate are predicted to be next in line to become trillionaires if they maintain their growth trajectories.

Only a handful of companies around the world are worth more than a trillion dollars, with Microsoft topping the list with a market cap of $3.4T. However, it was Apple that first breached the 3-trillion-dollars-mark last year. Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway is the newest to join the trillion dollar club, crossing the mark in August. The report predicts that Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer TSMC will be the next company to surpass the market cap of a trillion dollars by next year with an impressive annual growth rate of 32%.
