Jeff Bezos has fallen in love, quite literally. Not with another woman, but in sheer excitement to meet his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, after her Blue Origin space capsule touched down on Earth on April 14. No, she wasn’t gone for weeks, the space trip lasted less than 11 minutes and featured a six-member, all-female crew including pop star Katy Perry, CBS’s Gayle King, ex-NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn. But it doesn’t take a genius to guess who the world’s second-richest man was swooning over.

In an adorably lovestruck moment, a thrilled Bezos, worth $200 billion, was seen peering through the capsule’s windows, perhaps eager to catch Sánchez’s reaction as she fulfilled a lifelong dream. Blinded by love, the Amazon founder missed a massive crater in the Texas desert and fell right into it. With a spring in his step and a buzz in the air, the tech tycoon bounced back up, seemingly unhurt.
It was all roses and violins in the middle of the desert as the 60-year-old billionaire finally embraced his fiancée. Bezos and Lauren have been together since 2018 and are set to tie the knot in Venice this June. The sight of the mogul running toward his ladylove to congratulate her on such a meaningful milestone was truly endearing. Clearly, he values time as much as money, meeting her moments after touchdown. As Jennifer Lopez once said, love don’t cost a thing, even when you’re a billionaire.
