Chinese electronics giant Oppo has signed Maye Musk, the mother of Elon Musk, as the global ambassador for the brand’s flagship smartphone the Find X6 Pro. The 75-year-old model and dietitian will appear in a series of commercials and events to promote the Find X6 Pro, which is being touted as the best camera smartphone in the world. Photos from the first official photoshoot recently surfaced on the internet along with a video ad that was leaked on YouTube.

In the commercial, Maye Musk can be seen holding a toy plane, talking about her adventure-filled childhood and how her three children, including Elon Musk, have inherited her perseverance to constantly grow. She even quips about how she hopes “it takes them to space and beyond.” It should be noted that Oppo hasn’t officially released the commercial or pictures from the photoshoot.

Oppo’s move to sign Maye Musk as a brand ambassador for the Find X6 Pro smartphone has come as a surprise to many. It’s quite obvious that the brand wants to utilize the extremely popular Musk name as an effective promotional tool; we’ve seen how anything related to Elon can quickly grab attention. However, it would be unfair to say that was the only reason behind choosing Maye Musk. After all, she has had an illustrious modeling career spanning over 50 years. Even beyond her relation to the world’s richest person, Maye has all the qualities to be the face of a flagship product. In fact, the Find X6 Pro in brown color looks pretty good on her in the photoshoot where she can be seen wearing a beautiful maroon dress.
