Illuminated garments are a good substitute for people who cannot afford a lot of bling but still wish to be the center of attention. But now LED-fitted textiles are growing in utility! Yvonne Laurysen and Erik Mantel from the Dutch company LAMA Concept have created a revolution in the eTextile technology as they have come up with an LED-cell based flexible carpet!
Called the ‘LED Cell rug,’ the carpet is made from 100% pure wool felt pressed and later cut into strings. Thus, his product is non-flammable, soundproofing, and water-repellent. This carpet was showcased inside an Airbus where the flooring of a business class cabin was covered with the LED cell rug, making the cabin appearance more luxurious and royal!
