Louis Vuitton’s ‘Perfume Atlas’: A book of scents by Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud with 45 unique raw material vials

Available in three covers, Rose, Lemon, and Jasmine, the books enclose specially commissioned illustrations, photographs, and texts along with a plethora of stories that transport you back in time. Not only can one trace the origins of the precious natural elements that form the basis of the House’s unique fragrances, but you can also learn about techniques, precise extraction of essential oils, etc., and the making of complex fragrances.

With 380 pages in all, the book, edited by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, Maître Parfumeur of the Maison, features the words of author Lionel Paillès, images of the talented illustrator Aurore de la Morinerie, and photographs by Sébastien Zanella.

Per WWD, Cavallier-Belletrud spent almost three years putting together the book that brings the magic and history of LV from three continents into one collectible. The three different covers rose, jasmine, and lemon pay homage to the perfumer’s preferred plants, with chapters organized by geographical locations. Louis Vuitton: A Perfume Atlas, worth $172 is the first publication from the French House’s master perfumer, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud and is available at LV stores.
