Gucci launches “China Exclusive” Year of the Horse capsule collection

Like Bloomingdale’s, many are rushing to lure the Chinese buyer with their Chinese New Year plans. In this case, the two may not have been mutually exclusive were it not for Gucci’s “China Exclusive” collection. That’s right, the luxury label has launched a capsule collection to mark the festive atmosphere of the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations.

The Chinese New Year bag collection might just bring some more color into the Chinese celebration, the color Red to be more specific. Featuring the classic Bright Bit handbag, shoulder bag, and clutch in brilliant red patent leather, Gucci’s latest outing steers clear of obvious references to the Year of the Horse and instead opts for subtle influences, namely a prosperous red-gold union.
Horse bit hardware, however, hones the equestrian appeal of the label that has seen equine influences in erstwhile collections as well. The logoed interiors of the Bright Brit bear brass plates read “China Exclusive”, further extending their show of dedication.
