Expecting an iPhone with a metal body and an expansive flat glass screen is rather expected. But this is set to change if we are to believe KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He was quoted saying, “We expect the 2017 new iPhone model to adopt a structural design similar to that of iPhone 4/ 4s, meaning it will be equipped with glass on both the front and back sides, and a metal frame surrounded the edges. The difference is that the new model will likely come with a curved screen and curved glass casing, with other important features including a 5.8-inch AMOLED display, wireless charging, and more biometric recognitions (facial or iris). Given the curved design, the new model may look smaller than an existing 5.5-inch iPhone.”
While most of the other features do not surprise us half as much as the incredible prospect of holding a curved iPhone that is glazed to the hilt, we can imagine the brand new experience it can create for loyalists. This phone could be named the iPhone 7 and have an iPhone 7 Plus in tow.
The iPhone 7 that is expected soon isn’t one for a major design overhaul, while it may accommodate some minor tweaks and bumps in the way it presents itself. Time alone will tell us what the legacy of the smartphone of next year has to surprise us.
