LG introduces the mother of all televisions with the new 105-inch Ultra High Definition Curved TV

Curved TVs might serve very little or even absolutely no extra practical benefit in comparison to slim flat-screen displays. Still, nevertheless, they look awesome, which is why they have become the latest fad. Just a couple of weeks before the CES 2014 kicks off, two of Korea’s biggest TV manufacturers have given us a hint of what’s to come. Forget 55-inch high-definition TVs, which will look petite in front of LG’s new 105-inch 4K Ultra High Definition Curved TV. Named the LG 105UB9, this monster of television is hailed as the first-ever curved 4K TV with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Exquisitely designed, the curved TV guarantees to transform the viewing experience as well as the room it is housed in.

“LG Display has kept its dominant position in the display market with innovative and differentiated technologies. With a resolution of 11 million pixels, the 105-inch curved LCD panel is proof of our continued leadership in the next generation display market, offering exceptional world-class value to our customers,” said Senior Vice President and head of LG Display’s TV Business Unit Yong-kee Hwang.

Following the announcement by LG, Samsung quickly jumped into the bandwagon by hinting at their own 105-inch Ultra High Definition 4K LCD curved TV with a similar aspect ratio debunking the claims made by LG to be the first company to experiment with the combination. The competition is heating up, which means good news for consumers. Now all eyes are on CES 2014, which officially starts from January 7th, 2014.
