Tag Heuer launches updated Meridiist 2 mobile phone for $5300

Tag Heuer, a company known for their ultra-premium quality watches, ventured into the luxury mobile phone market back in 2008 with their Meridiist line-up. After almost 5 years, the company has refreshed the premium mobile line-up with Meridiist 2. The 2nd generation Meridiist is lighter, thinner and more powerful than before and will come in 10 different designs divided into three different styles: Elegance, Jewellery and Prestige.

The Tag Heuer Meridiist 2 now comes with an around-the-clock exclusive concierge service, similar to the one offered by Vertu Constellation. A Tag Heuer representative can be reached on the press of a dedicated button who’ll entertain all kinds of requests, including dinner reservations to booking flight tickets at any hour of the day.

The new Meridiist line-up now also boasts a dual-SIM card feature which will eliminate the hassle of swapping SIMs during international travel. Other bits of the premium-grade phone is similar to its predecessor. It comes with a Stainless Steel chassis, sapphire screen, and a battery that brags it can last for 28 days on a single charge. The second display on the top now features a dual-time GMT function.

Sadly, the technology bit has remained primitive and crude without any updates. The Meridiist comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and 8GB of storage. It sports a 2.4-inch TFT LCD display (320 x 240) on the front and a monochrome OLED display on the top. The prices start at £3,291 ($5300 approx), and the complete range is available in Tag Heuer boutiques, luxury mobile boutiques, and selected watch and jewelry retailers.
