Dom Pérignon goes the Damien Hirst route to quench your thirst with vintage champagne featuring a dash of art. The limited-edition collaboration brings two end-of-year vintage bottles adorned with the British artist’s signature kaleidoscope motif. The result is a reinterpretation of the shield design in rose and blue, taking a place of pride on two vintages, Dom Pérignon Vintage 2018 and Rosé Vintage 2010. The bottles intoxicate not only with their contents, but also with what is on the cover, mesmerising butterflies transformed into hypnotic patterns.

The artist described his creative process, saying, “Dom Pérignon’s iconic shield was the starting point. I saw a lot of parallels with my Kaleidoscope series not only in the shape of the butterfly wings, which I took from Victorian tea trays, but also in how they’re put together. A Dom Pérignon vintage is always an assemblage, a blend of grapes, just like the Kaleidoscope Paintings are an assemblage of found objects in butterfly wings,” reported Galerie. Each vintage gets its own color palette. Vintage 2018 comes in deep blues and violets, while the Rosé Vintage 2010 takes a palette of magenta, red, and pink, blushingly representing the Pinot Noir.

Matching boxes carry the full kaleidoscope pattern, with the shield set at the center in silver. The Hirst touch is observed on the bottle and also in a dense, symmetrical pattern across the gift box. The Dom Pérignon x Damien Hirst Vintage 2018 Limited Edition Gift Box is priced at approximately $300, and the Rosé Vintage 2010 Limited Edition Gift Box is priced at approximately $550.
