Floris London announces happy hour, afternoon tea to enhance its summer scents

We love our afternoon tea, here at Luxurylaunches. And it’s not just us. Designers from Jimmy Choo, Anya Hindmarch and Alexander McQueen have all lend their designs to make teatime stylish and completely in vogue. The latest name to jump on the tea wagon is British perfumer Floris London, who will be serving cocktails while offering customers a chance to explore its ‘By Request’ summer fragrance at its 89 Jermyn Street boutique.

Called “Thirsty Thursdays” Floris has invited enthusiasts to get to know the brand, its associates and perfumed offerings over a cocktail, every Thursday from 5-7 pm, through the month of May. “The Duke of Amalfi” is the cocktail created by head barman of the InterContinental London Park Lane, Stefano Filistad. The cocktail was created taking inspiration from the latest summer By Request fragrance ‘Bergamotto Positano’ which pays homage to Charles Pagliano, the husband of brand founder Mary Floris, and their love story. The recipe includes orange vodka, homemade bergamot and ginger cordial, peach bitters, mandarin Napoleon and lemon juice.

Little treats served with tea are also to be enjoyed in the same way as a scent might be. The sandwiches come with a light rose pickled cucumber with mascarpone, which is tasted before the heartier notes of salmon and bergamot in lemon bread. Also available is a spicier combination of pink peppercorn and thyme chicken, followed by a rich honey roast pumpkin with crumbled feta. Also on the menu – mini-buttermilk scones, served with Earl Grey infused butter, wild strawberry jam, pink peppercorn lemon curd and clotted cream.

The limited edition Scents of Summer Afternoon Tea is priced from £45 ($69) and will be available from May 18 to September 27, 2015 Monday to Sunday from 1pm to 5pm and will be served at the Wellington Lounge, overlooking the Royal Parks and London landmarks.
