Bvlgari x Sheikha Fatima’s high jewellery collection is inspired by Abu Dhabi’s iconic Grand mosque

Bulgari’s new collection is something to look forward to as it brings to the world the vision and creativity of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE’s ruling family, the inspiration that was her grandfather, Sheikh Zayed, the Founding Father of UAE and the expertise of Lucia Silvestri, Bulgari’s High Jewellery Creative Director. The collection highlights elements like the Carrara marble ceilings and architecture of Abu Dhabi’s Grand Mosque, which is also the work of Sheikh Zayed. The Jannah Collection consists of 25 spellbinding creations (shortlisted from 300-400 full designs) and carries UAE heritage, culture, and aspiration all around the world. the Jannah flower with its five petals makes its presence felt in all designs. The pieces from the Jannah collection that stand out the most is a duo of poncho necklaces that required between 1,200 and 1,500 man-hours to create; elaborate ring-bracelets that nod to traditional Arabic jewelry, and the headpiece, which is crafted from pink gold, set with white cultured pearls and brilliant diamonds. Baba Zayed’s love for pearls is also eminent throughout as UAE boasts of very high-quality pearls and their trade was very popular too.

Other than pearls, emeralds have been used keeping in mind his love for nature. This groundbreaking collection is called so as its first for Bulgari to focus on a region so extensively all while using just a single motif as inspiration. Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor is the face of the Jannah Collection that is dedicated to the Middle East for now.
