Jack Sweeney, the jet-tracking teen who was infamously kicked out of Twitter for tracking Elon Musk’s private jet, has moved to Mark Zuckerberg’s ‘Threads’ and already amassed thousands of followers

The flag of jet-tracking teen Jack Sweeney will continue to sway, albeit on Meta Threads. To Elon Musk’s dismay, the plane-tracking operation will resume on Mark Zuckerberg’s new Twitter rival. ElonJet has arrived to Threads!” read Sweeney’s first post on Thursday. The new account, which uses the handle @ElonMusksJet, had more than 13,000 followers at the time of writing. “I would like to post on Threads just as I do on Instagram,” Sweeney, whose Instagram account currently has over 46,000 followers, told Insider.

The University of Central Florida student became famous with the real-time jet tracker Elonjet. Musk himself, tangling with the teen, grabbed a lot of attention. From sparring online to offering to buy the account, the billionaire tried it all and failed. His ultimate win was buying Twitter and, predictably, banning Elonjet from it. The suspended Twitter account @ElonJet garnered nearly 500,000 followers making around $7,000 from the handle thanks to merchandise sales, advertising, and donations.

Last year bought a new jet, the swanky Gulfstream G700 which is even more luxurious and sports a higher range.

Whether Sweeney will continue his carbon footprint-free journey on Threads is unpredictable. Sweeney came under fire with the Meta social media platform, and his page dedicated to Musk’s aerospace movements was taken down from Facebook. The teenage programmer rubbed Meta CEO the wrong way by discovering Zuckerberg’s private jet. The jet-tracker tracked celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Mark Cuban, and Drake.
