Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison has long made headlines for his lavish mansions, such as the 23-acre Woodside Estate in California and the unmatched Hawaiian island of Lānaʻi of which he owns approximately 98 percent. Even his floating palaces, the former Rising Sun and Musashi superyacht, have captured public attention over the years. Interestingly, the 82-year-old billionaire also draws notice for the homes he does not personally inhabit.

In true billionaire fashion, he splurged a whopping $10 million on eight houses for his staff, children’s tutors, and others, located about 30 minutes from his Florida compound. Evidently, privacy and family life are paramount for Ellison, his wife Jolin Ellison, and their five children. The support village required to run their lives smoothly resides in the Palm Meadows Estates gated community in Boynton Beach since 2023.

Unlike Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg, who has consolidated his entire domestic life and children’s schooling within his Palo Alto compound, Ellison plays by a different rulebook. For the arrangement to work, his entity, Florida Estates LLC, invested in a string of homes mostly consisting of two-story properties featuring two to four bedrooms and spectacular lake views, reported The Wall Street Journal. Furthermore, all eight houses are equipped with Tesla Powerwalls and sit roughly a 30-minute drive from the Manalapan estate.

The five Ellison children, all under 18, are homeschooled at the family’s $173 million Manalapan mansion, Gemini, which stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway. The residence of the billionaire, who boasts a net worth of $178 billion, features 33 bedrooms, a dedicated staff house, and an estate manager’s residence. In addition, he won approval for a 10,000-square-foot guest house, clearly suggesting that while space is not an issue, privacy remains the ultimate priority.

Ultra-comfortable accommodations are provided for their large group of tutors, who teach the children multiple languages and other subjects and can live with their families. Palm Meadows Estates comprises 288 homesites featuring a 24-hour staffed security gate, a clubhouse, a resort-style swimming pool, fitness facilities, and sports courts for tennis, pickleball, and indoor basketball. Local agent Ashley McCoy summarized the community’s primary appeal, “Every single home has a view of the water.” Not only does the Oracle chairman live like royalty, but the people who work closely with him and his clan do as well.

Gemini, a sanctuary for the Oracle chairman-
The 15.65-acre parcel of land spans nearly 85,000 square feet of built space across all its structures. The main residence boasts 12 bedrooms (the entire estate has 34 bedrooms), 13 powder rooms, and 34 full bathrooms. Additional dwellings include the seven-bedroom Mango House and two four-bedroom beach cottages. This expansive layout ensures dedicated spaces for a large entourage that cares for the family of seven, plus David Ellison and Megan Ellison, David’s children from a previous marriage to Barbara Boothe.

A guest and staff building features four studios and apartments, alongside a manager’s house and offices for personnel who live in close proximity to the family. What is most spectacular about the Gemini estate, is not simply the number of buildings, but how the compound connects across the public road using three subterranean tunnels. Fascinatingly, one tunnel was designed as a furnished, approximately 15-foot-wide art gallery. All this grandeur, and drivers on State Road A1A can pass directly over portions of Larry Ellison’s residence without ever realizing it.

The $173 million estate also includes a 50-by-25-foot saltwater swimming pool and extensive athletic facilities, from tennis and basketball courts to a pitch-and-putt golf course. Among its more unusual features is a mystical butterfly garden complete with a large-scale model train. The garden is essentially a breathtaking botanical collection of 1,500 tropical plant species. As a serial superyacht owner with a deep connection to the sea, Ellison has outfitted his extravagant residence with boat lifts and multiple docks. Completing the billionaire abode are helicopter landing areas and Bird Island, a privately controlled offshore sanctuary. Even so, Ellison chose to accommodate a significant number of staff members and tutors in a separate community about 30 minutes away.
