If there was anything worth paying attention to in addition to the drama that ensued, it was the $125 million mega mansion that was as much a part of the cast as the lead actors themselves. Unfortunately, this most expensive home in the Pacific Palisades has been destroyed in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. What was once a breathtaking 18-bedroom mansion offering sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, has been reduced to a charred skeleton.
It no longer even resembles its former self that once flaunted exquisite details like a ‘Nobu-designed chef’s kitchen’ and a grand 20-seater theater. The mega mansion, owned by Luminar Technologies boss Austin Russell, 29, was on the market to rent for $450,000 per month when the blaze broke out.
It may sound like an eye-watering sum, but this was a home deserving of the price, featuring luxurious additions such as a fire pit with an eye-catching rattan bench that, astonishingly, still stands tall like a charred version of the Iron Throne, blackened, burnt, yet defiant.
The devastation stretches beyond, with the once lush garden now inseparable from the destruction, and a filthy outdoor pool lying amidst the scorched chaparral. The famously elaborate interiors, which were celebrated for their grandeur, are now a sorrowful extension of the destruction, with walls burnt to the ground. The futuristic four-story property, which boasted two panic rooms, a rooftop deck, a luxury spa, and a state-of-the-art car gallery equipped with a turntable doubling as a ballroom, has been obliterated.
The Pacific Palisades area, known for housing a galaxy of celebrities, has been hit hard by the wildfires. Among those affected are Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, and Milo Ventimiglia, who now face the devastation of losing their homes.
