California-based boutique carmaker Rezvani has introduced a new all-American supercar called the Beast. For proper automotive nerds, the supercar’s name might sound a little familiar. While the company has made its name over the last few years by creating over-the-top bulletproof SUVs, the first automobile they ever built was a supercar also named Beast. Introduced a decade ago, the original Beast was based on Aerial Atom and had around 710hp. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Rezvani has revealed the Beast Mk2, which is essentially a re-skinned Corvette C8 with hypercar-rivalling performance figures.
Starting with the design, the 2024 Rezvani Beast looks very little like the Corvette C8 it is based on, except for the side air vents and the Targa top roof. While it does share a lot of design cues with the original Beast, we must say the American supercar is aesthetically really good, especially the rear. The quad exhaust cans jutting out of the sides give the Beast an old-school look. On the inside, the cabin looks pretty much like what you’ll find in the C8 Corvette. The biggest change you’ll notice is the steering wheel, with its top section chopped off to make it look like a yoke.
Under the hood is a re-tuned version of Corvette’s mid-mounted 6.2-liter V8. Thanks to a pair of turbochargers and some other tweaks, the engine can produce 1000hp in the “Beast Mode,” which is more than twice what the base C8 offers.
The supercar has an eight-speed DCT transaxle from Tremec that sends the power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. Rezvani claims the Beast only weighs 2,980 lbs. thanks to its special ultra-lightweight carbon fiber body made using high-temperature resins that are “used in the latest generation of US fighter jets.” As a result, the Beast can accelerate from 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds and run the quarter-mile in just 9.6 seconds.
The Beast, being a Rezvani, absolutely has to offer balletic protection. There’s a $55,000 Bullet Proof Package that adds bulletproof glass and body panels to the vehicle. There’s no word on how much weight it adds. Additionally, buyers can also opt for the $45,000 ‘007’ Package, which adds extras like strobe lights, sirens and horns, an intercom system, first aid, a hypothermia kit, run-flat tires, gas masks, a thermal night vision system.
If that was not all, it also includes proper 007 toys like a pepper spray dispenser, a smoke screen, electrified door handles, “blinding lights,” EMP pulse protection, magnetic deadbolts, and explosive device detection. “We are all kids at heart and we grew up watching Knight Rider and James Bond so we had to offer these same features in a real car,” said Rezvani. The company will build only 20 examples of the Beast, which will be on offer with a starting price of $485,000 or about seven times the cost of a base Corvette C8.
