Bentley celebrates its 100th birthday with a special edition Mulsanne


British luxury automaker Bentley will complete a hundred years of creating some of the most exquisite cars in the world next year, and it has already started the celebrations. To celebrate the occasion, Bentley has revealed the limited-edition Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner which honors the company founder, Walter Owen Bentley. Only 100 examples of limited edition centenary model will be built with deliveries commencing in 2019 following its public debut at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August. Each of the 100 cars will have a piece of Bentley’s original 8 Litre car inside; the founder’s personal car is the last vehicle he designed for his company and the second example off the production line. A piece of the 8 Litre’s crankshaft will be showcased in the Mulliner illuminated cocktail cabinet’s display window, along with an inscription detailing the significance of it.

Other special treatments received by the limited edition car include a signature Onyx paint on the outside; although, owners will also have the option to order the car in the color of their choice. A small W.O. Bentley signature the lower bumper and special centenary badging found on the wheel center caps and door sills complete the special touches on the outside. Inside the cabin, the W.O. Edition pays homage to the original 8 Litre and uses Fireglow Heritage hides with Beluga detailing and stitching. The wood dash features the founder’s signature and a drinks cooler is built into the rear seats. The W.O. Edition by Mulliner is available on all three Mulsanne models, including the Speed. There’s no word on the pricing as of yet.
