Bugatti hypercars are famous for their notoriously high ownership costs. YouTube has multiple videos of owners sharing details of the eyewatering service costs of their French hypercars, including one by Iranian-American entrepreneur Manny Khoshbin, who says it costs him $25,000 yearly to service his Veyron. However, it gets much worse when the owner has to replace an out-of-warranty component. To give you an idea of how expensive it can get, here is a headlight for a Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron Sang Noir, listed for sale on eBay Germany for a whopping 35,000 euros (around $40,000).
Remember that the listing is just for one headlight and not a pair. That means you’ll have to spend around $80,000 to replace both headlights. With that kind of money, you can buy yourself a brand-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class. However, it’s a multi-million Bugatti we’re talking about.
The seller is based in Poland and specializes in replacement headlights for high-end cars. The listing says the headlight assembly will fit the right-hand side of a Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron Sang Noir. While it is listed as a used item, the seller claims it is in perfect condition. The same seller has also listed a pair of Bugatti Chiron headlights for $164,000.
Interestingly, the eBay listing gave us a closer look at the headlight module thanks to multiple photographs of the item covering all angles. The sticker on top of the module has logos of Bugatti and Hella, which explains the “Made in Germany” text. However, we are surprised by the simplicity of the headlight module, which makes us question the steep asking price. For a $40,000 unit, it surprisingly only features xenon bulbs. Considering that you can buy a Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron Sang Noir for close to $1.5 million, one headlight costs 2.5% of the price of the hypercar.
The Sang Noir is a special edition version of the Bugatti Veyron that was released in 2008. The special edition’s name translates to “black blood” in French, reflected by its menacing black exterior. It features a glossy black carbon-fiber body with contrasting polished aluminum accents and a striking bright interior, often in orange.
The special edition is equipped with an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine that produces 1,001 horsepower. Only 12 examples of the Sang Noir were built by Bugatti, making it extremely rare.
Note – According to BMW USA the 2025 X1 starts at $40,500.
