Dubai Police has expanded its fleet of exotic patrol cars by adding a new Bentley Continental GT V8. Decked out in Dubai Police’s green and white livery, the V8-powered Continental GT was handed over by Al Habtoor Motors during a ceremony at the Dubai Police Officers Club. The event was attended by Major General Jamal Al Jallaf, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, along with several top officials from Bentley Emirates. “This effort is part of the Dubai Police’s strategy to upgrade all vehicles used in different operations, contributing to the achievement of the strategic objectives of the Dubai Police in maintaining safety and security,” Maj Gen Al Jallaf said.
This is not the first Bentley Continental GT to join Dubai Police’s fleet of supercars. It was more than a decade ago when the city’s police department took delivery of its first Continental GT. Over the years, the jaw-dropping collection has steadily grown in size with the addition of some of the most incredible exotic cars, which includes the likes of a Bugatti Veyron, Aston Martin One-77, Lamborghini Aventador, and a Brabus Mercedes-Benz G-class. What’s interesting is that Dubai Police has started to take an interest in electric cars as the world continues to transition towards electrification and zero-emission mobility. After adding a Hongqi E-HS9 luxury SUV as the first EV in its fleet last year, the department took delivery of an Audi e-tron GT this year.
The Bentley Continental GT is a grand tourer produced by the British luxury automaker since 2003. The third-generation Continental GT debuted back in 2017 and is currently available with both W12 and V8 powertrain options. The V8 version features a 4.0L twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder engine under the hood which is capable of churning out 542 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. The V8-powered luxury grand tourer is capable of accelerating from zero to 60mph in 3.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 198mph.
