YouTuber Alex Gonzalez can’t seem to get a break when it comes to his Bugatti ownership. The self-made trading millionaire who used to work at Dunkin’ Donuts has, in the past, complained about the high costs of ownership associated with his Bugatti Chiron and even more exclusive Chiron Pur Sport.
These issues have ranged from a $36,000 battery replacement to a $25,000 key fob replacement, the latter of which was ironically followed by him squatting on the rear wing of the Chiron Pur Sport and breaking it. The influencer has just shared the aftermath of a wreck, which saw the purple Bugatti’s front end destroyed.
Alex Gonzalez posted the wreck of his Chiron Pur Sport with a caption mentioning that he’s safe and alright, though clearly the same can’t be said of the hypercar. It isn’t clear what caused the accident or if anyone else was involved, but the damage to the Chiron is quite clear.
The front end of the car has taken quite the beating, with the force of impact enough to trigger the steering-mounted airbag, as seen in the photos.
The Chiron Pur Sport is a limited-edition hypercar, with only 60 units contributing to the overall run of 500 units for the Chiron in total. It packs the same 1,500 horsepower W16 quad-turbo engine but with revised gearing and more downforce, meaning the Pur Sport tops out at 217mph versus the standard Chiron’s 230mph top speed. From what we can tell, given the extent of the damage, Alex Gonzalez’s Chiron must not have been traveling even half as quickly as its advertised top speed.
The one thing we do know is that the YouTuber is sure to create more content out of his misfortune with the Chiron. Given the price of Bugatti spares, if this Chiron can be fixed, the bill will be truly astronomical. Everything else the influencer has complained about in the past will truly pale in comparison.
Fortunately for him, he has a second Bugatti Chiron wrapped in hot pink. And if that was not enough he has already a Lamborghini SVJ to make up for the crashed Bugatti. We’re hopeful no further misfortune awaits Alex Gonzalez and his last remaining Bugatti.
