This German DJ drops the bass and the ball, wrecking a friend’s Ferrari SF90 that was up for sale for half a million dollars during a test drive on the Autobahn

If you wreck it, you buy it. At least, that’s the norm when buying a used car from a car dealer. Probably even more so when the used car you’re looking to buy, and consequently wreck on the test drive, is a 2022 Ferrari SF90 Stradale listed for $470,000. The car, owned by a businessman in Germany, was listed for sale with a local car dealer with just about 2,500 miles on the clock.

Specced with the desirable Assetto Fiorano package that includes a whole bunch of carbon fibre parts, the repairs on this Italian hypercar are not going to be for the faint of heart. What’s worse, it’s said the prospective buyer of the car and the seller were friends. Ouch.

The buyer is reportedly a well-known German DJ and was interested in the car. With the seller in the passenger seat, it appears the DJ was too aggressive on the throttle coming onto the Autobahn. Reports indicate that the car accelerated onto the highway and crashed straight into the guardrail, littering carbon fiber everywhere.

A Ferrari SF90 with the Assetto Fiorano package

The Assetto Fiorano package, which adds carbon fibre bumpers, a spoiler, rocker panel covers, titanium springs, a full system exhaust, and a motorsport-derived suspension, shaves about 66 pounds off the dry weight of a standard SF90. It also costs over $50,000 to spec. Looking at the severity of the crash, it’s safe to say the Assetto Fiorano package is toast.

The listing

In fact, this is one Ferrari SF90 that probably isn’t going to be putting down its 986 horsepower ever again. If this is indeed a write-off, it’s going to be an interesting conversation between the two friends because that damage isn’t going to buff off for sure.
