Walmart’s billionaire heiress Nancy Walton is so scared of eco-activists that, when vacationing in Spain, she not only covers the nameplate of her $300 million superyacht and also has round-the-clock dockside guards watching the 361-foot-long Kaos

Kaos is living the idiom, twice bitten, thrice shy. The reason is simple: the $300 million superyacht owned by Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie, which endured not one but two vandalism incidents involving eco-activists, is now clearly playing it safe. The 361-foot Oceanco giant has been a familiar sight in Spain whenever summer rolls around.

But memories of the climate activist attack in Barcelona on July 17, 2023, when black and red paint was hurled across the billionaire’s yacht, are still fresh. And why wouldn’t they be? There was a second dose of disaster on September 8, 2023, when eco-activists targeted the vessel again, this time with biodegradable red paint and a startling banner that read, “Billionaires should not exist.”

So while Kaos remains intent on enjoying the Mediterranean, it has also resorted to new safety measures to keep another catastrophe at bay, even three years later. When Laurie’s 361-foot yacht returned to Málaga, this time with company in tow, its own $30 million support vessel Kalm, it did so with noticeable discretion. While the new 220-foot support vessel, which carries everything from toys and tenders to spare crew and supplies, sailed in full view, Kaos itself took a quieter approach. According to a Málaga Hoy column from December 2025, when Kaos arrived in Málaga, it had covered its name and kept a private security guard on the dock, apparently still haunted by the shadow of those earlier incidents.

Even today, Kaos is in Málaga, according to its location broadcast on MarineTraffic, which suggests the vessel is not entirely deterred by the past attacks. It is simply taking no chances. This time, it has essential security measures in place and Kalm for company. Málaga Hoy reported that Kaos has been docked at Muelle Uno for several days, while Kalm is moored near the Palmeral de las Sorpresas.

The Oceanco beauty has been visiting Spain regularly, and that routine looks far from over. What has changed is the manner in which it moves through these familiar Spanish ports. Kaos now seems to sail with a heavier layer of anonymity and security. It may well be preparing to head back home, which would make Málaga an important and almost obligatory stop.

Malaga is a popular superyacht destination

The city’s megayacht marina is ideal for vessels of this scale at the end of the Mediterranean season, thanks to its position near the Strait of Gibraltar. It is the sort of place where luxury pleasure craft get the much-needed TLC before embarking on a transatlantic voyage. With certain risks now clearly in mind, Kaos is playing it smart before sailing onward to the Caribbean.

And Kaos is worth protecting. The 4,523-ton vessel was originally commissioned by the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Abdullah bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani. That explains its grandeur and its lavish use of materials such as marble, stonework, Iranian white onyx, and Golden Spider stone in several areas. The behemoth also features 15 suites and can accommodate up to 30 guests.

The spectacular four-deck yacht boasts a swimming pool, spa pool, helipad, full aquarium, cinema, and extensive spa facilities. But for sheer flamboyance, nothing beats The London Bar, complete with smoke machines, a DJ booth, and a water-wall chandelier. Hurling paint over something so extravagant and exquisitely built was a cruel act, one Kaos seems determined to avoid repeating for now.
