A Dubai millionaire’s devotion drove the creation of Rolls-Royce’s one-off Phantom Dentelle: a couture-lace homage bearing 160,000 dashboard stitches, rose gold accents, and a unique two-tone crystal finish

The world of ultra-luxury automotive customization has witnessed another extraordinary creation from Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke division. The Phantom Dentelle, a one-of-one commission that pushes the boundaries of automotive artistry, represents the pinnacle of personalized luxury. This remarkable vehicle was commissioned by a Middle Eastern client through Rolls-Royce’s exclusive Private Office in Dubai, intended as a deeply personal gift for their father.

The timing of this commission follows another notable Middle Eastern luxury purchase, as a secretive Dubai millionairess recently gifted her daughter a bespoke Rolls-Royce Spectre Rose valued at over $500,000, demonstrating the region’s continued appetite for exclusive automotive artistry.

The Phantom Dentelle draws its inspiration from an unlikely source: handmade couture lace created using a rare Leavers loom. This specialized machine, first developed in 1813 and adapted for intricate lace patterns in 1841, represents a dying art form that mirrors the exclusivity of the vehicle itself. The connection between centuries-old textile craftsmanship and modern automotive luxury creates a narrative that transcends mere transportation.

The most striking aspect of the Phantom Dentelle lies in its extraordinary embroidery work. The dashboard alone required over 160,000 individual stitches, employing eight different techniques to create a multi-dimensional floral composition. The rear center console, known as the Waterfall in Rolls-Royce terminology, features an additional 70,000 stitches, bringing the total to more than 230,000 carefully placed threads. This level of detail transforms the cabin into a mobile art gallery, with Rose Gold, Sunrise, and Oatmeal threads creating depth and texture that mimics the delicate nature of actual lace.

The exterior showcases a sophisticated two-tone paint scheme combining Crystal over Arctic White for the lower body with Crystal over Palais Nemasker Dawn adorning the upper sections. This exclusive upper color will never be replicated for another customer, ensuring the vehicle’s permanent uniqueness. Hand-painted coachlines in Sunrise incorporate a leafy branch motif with pearl-shaped berries, extending the interior’s organic theme to the exterior surfaces.

Complementing the bespoke paintwork, the Phantom Dentelle features 22-inch fully polished disc wheels with Arctic White pinstripes, while the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy mascot has been finished in Rose Gold. The Pantheon grille receives a polished treatment, and Rose Gold accents extend to the speaker grilles and engraved treadplates.

Despite its artistic focus, the Phantom Dentelle retains the standard powertrain: a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 producing 563 horsepower. This ensures that beneath the extraordinary craftsmanship lies the mechanical excellence that defines every Rolls-Royce.

The Phantom Dentelle represents more than automotive customization; it embodies the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and modern luxury, creating a rolling tribute to both paternal love and artistic excellence.
