The Tesla Cybertruck might soon join the Dubai Police Department’s fleet of exotic patrol cars

The Tesla Cybertruck reveal has been undoubtedly one of the most polarizing automobile launches in the recent past. Like it or dislike it, the Cybertruck is continuing to hog the limelight for the last week and a half. To everyone’s surprise, Elon Musk took to Twitter to announce the radical electric pickup truck has received 250,000 pre-orders in the first five days; but what’s not surprising at all is Dubai Police Department’s confirmation that it will add the Cybertruck to its fleet of uber-exotic patrol cars. The Dubai Police’s official Twitter account tweeted a design rendering of the Cybertruck wearing the department’s official livery in green and white. Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, says the Tesla Cybertruck will serve in tourist-heavy areas, Arabian Business reports.

The Tesla Cybertruck has all the ingredients to be the perfect patrol car. According to Tesla, the range-topping variant will boast a 500-plus mile range and the tri-motor set-up of the pickup will churn-out enough torque and horsepower to rocket the massive electric pickup truck from 0 to 60mph in just 2.9 seconds. Also part of the package is the super-strong bodywork of the truck, which Musk claims can stop some small arms fire. The Dubai Police Department’s fleet currently features some of the finest and the rarest exotic car, which includes the likes of the Bugatti Veyron, Aston Martin One-77, BMW i8, Ferrari LaFerrari, Lamborghini Aventador, and the Lykan HyperSport among many others.
