German high-performance aftermarket tuning brand Brabus is best known for working its magic on Mercedes and other Daimler vehicles; the company recently launched an armored version of the new G-Wagen that not only packs tarmac-ripping power but also gets matching protection to keep its occupants safe. But very few would know that Brabus also been present in the maritime industry with its Shadow range of high-end boats. The German tuning company joined hands with award-winning Finnish boat builder Axopar Boats to start Brabus Marine in 2017 and the brand has launched its latest flagship model – Brabus Shadow 900 Black Ops Limited Edition “1 of 37”. Making its debut at Dusseldorf 2020, the motorboat is available in Sun-Top and Spyder variants.
The company claims the new Shadow 900 is an all-round performer and it is faster, leaner and technically advanced than its predecessor. It is powered by Mercury Marine’s latest dual 450R Verado XL 4.6 liter V8 FourStroke engines that produce 450 horsepower each. The limited-edition boat features signature Gun Metal Grey paint job; each example goes through a painstaking and highly labor-intensive process to fulfill the quality requirements of its renowned fairing, painting and polishing level. All the work is done manually, by hand and can take up to six weeks to reach the required finish of the paint-job alone. The Gun Metal Grey paint job is paired with vibrant Brabus Red exterior seating to create a striking contrast. The limited-edition boat also features a new, clean and ergonomic helm inspired by supercars. It comes with a full glass bridge InformationDisplay based upon two 12-inch screens with a BRABUS User-Interface. The boat can be further optioned with additional equipment that adds two additional 9-inch screens and WIFI On-Board 4G connectivity for smartphones, laptops, Apple TV, amongst other things. The Shadow 900 Black Ops Limited Edition “1 of 37” will be available for sale from August 2020; the pricing is upon request only.
