When rappers Travis Scott and Pop Smoke came together for ‘Gatti’, named for, you guessed it, Bugatti, they knew they had to have Molsheim’s finest in their music video. As the story goes, as the shoot progressed and someone remarked that the Bugatti still had its new car smell, Scott revealed it was because it was brand new, and he had just bought it off the lot. The Bugatti in question is one of two Bugattis featured in the ‘Gatti’ music video: a black-on-blue Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, reported to cost over $5 million with customisations. The other Bugatti in the video is the older Veyron, both models having been the fastest car in the world at some point.
Travis Scott gave fans the lowdown on his Bugatti birthday gift in an interview with Complex, where he opened up about his love for collecting cars, sneakers, and hi-fi systems. Travis Scott’s net worth is approximately $100 million in 2025, and would’ve been significantly lower back in 2019 when the ‘Gatti’ video was filmed.
Considering that, it’s quite wild that the rapper just decided to go out and buy one of the fastest cars in the world on a whim. That said, Scott’s ex-girlfriend Kylie Jenner had also bought a white-on-orange Bugatti Chiron earlier that year, so maybe Scott got one to match hers as well as appear authentic for his music video.
Scott’s Chiron Super Sport was mechanically identical to the Chiron Super Sport 300+, an even more limited series built to commemorate the Chiron’s record-breaking top speed run. Only 30 of the Super Sport 300+ model were ever built, all finished in black with orange racing stripes.
The Super Sport packs an 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine pumping out 1,578 horsepower, good for a top speed of 261mph. Going by the ‘Gatti’ video with the rappers smoking blunts, we’re sure the Bugatti’s performance wasn’t the only thing Scott was getting high on.
