Emirates airlines is all set to launch NFTs and unique experiences in the Metaverse


From fashion to art, everything has a virtual touch these days. And to not lag far behind, Emirates, too, is set to hop onto the bandwagon with non-fungible tokens, a.k.a. NFTs, and other unique experiences in the Metaverse. Yes, that’s right!


With a focus on growing its digital reach, the airline already has the first projects in pipeline, with the launch expected in the months to come. Enthusiasts will be able to get their hands on both collectible and utility based NFTs and a host of other experiences in the Metaverse.


Commenting on it, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airlines and group, said, “Dubai and the UAE are blazing the way in the digital economy, having a clear vision supported by practical policies and regulatory frameworks in areas such as virtual assets, artificial intelligence, and data protection.”

He further added, “We are excited about opportunities in the digital space of the future and are committing a significant investment in financial and resourcing terms to develop products and services using advanced technologies that will deliver on revenue, brand experience, and business efficiencies.”

Additionally, Emirates has announced plans to repurpose its Emirates Pavilion at the Expo 2020 site into a center for innovation of sorts. The venue will bring talent from all over the globe to bring to life the airline’s future-focused projects, including those relating to the Metaverse, NFTs and Web3.

Last year, it also announced plans to launch its own VR app on the Oculus Store, to offer users accurate, life-size and interactive cabin interior experiences onboard Emirates’ flagship A380 aircraft and Boeing 777-300ER Gamechanger aircraft.

Well, Emirates is sure not one to shy away from innovation!
