Swiss watchmaker has launched a new version of its UR-105 CT in which luminosity takes center stage. Called the UR-105 CT “Kryptonite,” the latest timepiece isn’t a novelty as such. Last year, the UR-105 CT was introduced in the Streamliner version with two variations in the form of steel or black titanium cases. The new Kryptonite is basically just another color variation of the existing models that glows in the dark. The name, as you might have guessed already, refers to the meteorite from the Superman universe that glows like the watch. The vivid luminescence of the numerals beautifully contrasts with the matt, AlTiN-coated titanium case that measures 39.5 mm x 53 mm x 17.3 mm. The pitch black strap of the watch adds to the stealth, dark look.
With the cover on the top of the case closed, only the time indication of the watch is visible. On sliding the catch, the mechanism of the UR-105 CT Kryptonite reveals itself. Mechanically, the watch is exactly the same as the previous versions. The UR 5.03 automatic movement runs at 4Hz and offers a power reserve of 48 hours. The Urwerk UR-105 CT Kryptonite joins the collection with a price tag of CHF 65,000 (roughly the same value in USD according to the current exchange rate).
