Hermès plays with light and darkness with their Heure H Double Jeu watches

New from Hermès is the stylish and contemporary Heure H Double Jeu watch. Available in two avarats and two colors each (black and white) these watches appear to play with light and shadow, as glossy enamel shares space with dazzling diamonds. Like some of the equestrian brand’s other classic timepieces, this one too features an “H” shaped case with a square dial in the center.

The Heure H Double Jeu is available in a Vertical setting and Horizontal setting. The former features a 21mm white or black lacquered steel case set with 122 diamonds plus white/black lacquer dials, black/white transferred Arabic numerals and rhodium-plated hands. Meanwhile the horizontal editions are a tad more interesting, with steel dials and cases that are have a lacquered top half and a bottom half that’s fully set with diamonds (93 on the case and another 138 on the dial). The effect is as if the bottom half had been literally dipped in diamonds! Both watches have quartz movements.

Both versions have white grained or black Barénia calfskin straps which are interchangeable. The Heure H Double Jeu definitely mark a clever reinvention of the classic watch shape first created in 1996 by Philippe Mouquet. The color choices of black and white, also add a modern elegance to the watches. If you want to make a purchase, we recommend the Horizontal version which is sure to be more expensive as it uses more diamonds, but is much more creative and eye-catching as well.
