For its 40th anniversary, Jacob & Co. unveiled the patented 37-facet Angel Cut and crowned it with a $3.4 million Billionaire Double Tourbillon, an 18-piece spectacle drenched in 298 diamonds and 79 carats of brilliance

As jeweler and watchmaker to the stars, Jacob & Co. turned 40, the angels seemed to descend to earth. The House that gave the world the ultra-exclusive Billionaire watch series is now leaning on invention to take its celebration to seventh heaven. Speaking of heaven, the jeweler, who began his journey in New York’s Diamond District, has unveiled the Angel Cut. It is a proprietary and patented diamond cut conceived entirely in the Jacob & Co. stable, one that took years of research, development, and refinement to deliver what can safely be called an ethereal addition to the Jacob & Co. universe, one that seamlessly blurs the borders between jewelry and watchmaking.

The genesis of the Angel Cut is not only about setting new records, but also stems from a deeply personal association. The patented diamond cut is derived from Angela, the wife of founder Jacob Arabo for 37 years. In fact, that is one of the reasons why the diamond, with its lozenge-shaped table, features 37 facets. The luminance is extraordinary, despite having fewer facets than traditional cuts, while still managing to elevate the way light moves inside the stone.

The result is dazzling, unusually dimensional, and raises the bar particularly for rectangular stones. The Angel Cut is calibrated for crown height, pavilion depth, and facet alignment to achieve optimal internal reflection and strong upward light return.

This works especially beautifully in gem-set watch cases, making it a win-win for Jacob & Co. In ultra-luxury jewelry, being instantly recognizable matters. Jacob achieved this with the 288-facet spherical Jacob Cut. Similarly, the Angel Cut also delivers a distinct design language that elevates diamonds from being mere raw material in a timepiece to an element that defines the look of the piece. It also seems like the perfect fit for high-jewelry compositions, which are core to the Jacob & Co. brand, and it is already being flaunted beautifully in the Billionaire Double Tourbillon. For now, it looks like Jacob Arabo has cracked the code to deliver both the disciplined chic of emerald-cut diamonds and the crowd-pleasing brightness of brilliant-style stones, as only ‘Jacob the Jeweler’ could.

The Billionaire Double Tourbillon, a perfect canvas for the ingenious angel cut-

There may once have been a time when a timepiece was made simply to tell time. In today’s world, however, a watch can do everything except tell time, and that is perfectly fine. Watches have evolved into status symbols, art pieces, and collectibles, and some of the best examples come from Jacob & Co. The Billionaire Double Tourbillon is no different.
This masterpiece features a 54 x 41 mm white gold case illuminated by 98 Angel Cut diamonds totaling more than 50 carats. Ordinarily, any one of these stones could easily serve as the centerpiece of a jewel, but this is Jacob & Co. we are talking about, where unmatched and almost unimaginable opulence takes center stage. The dial is just as arresting, adorned with another 88 Angel Cut diamonds and baguette-cut stones that frame the twin tourbillon apertures. As breathtaking as it sounds, the watch is set with 298 white diamonds totaling approximately 79 carats.

While dazzle defines its appearance, the watch is also a thoroughbred performer. Inside beats the hand-wound JCAM50 caliber, comprising 460 components and distinguished by two flying tourbillons positioned at 12 and 6 o’clock. The action can be admired through the skeletonized architecture and sapphire caseback. Limited to just 18 pieces, the $3.4 million Billionaire Double Tourbillon Angel Cut marks the beginning of a new phase of luxury. “The Billionaire has always been our most uncompromising expression of watchmaking and gem-setting,” said Benjamin Arabov, CEO of Jacob & Co. “Launching the Angel Cut within this platform was a deliberate decision. When you develop a patented cut designed to redefine how a diamond interacts with light, it deserves a stage of equal intensity.”
