Watchmaker RJ Romain Jerome is celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the Statue of Liberty with a new watch, a collaborative endeavor of The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation and Gold Leaf Corporation. The bronze bezel of the new RJ-Romain Jerome timepiece is adorned with 12 spikes reminiscent of the statue’s famous crown, which will acquire a delightful patina as it ages over time, giving it a color of the original, whose precious DNA is featured on the dial. The verdigris dial exudes with the color of oxidized copper that owes its color to Miss Liberty’s particle incorporated into it. The bronze-colored faceted hands and the brown alligator leather strap add a vintage charm to the timepiece.
The RJ Romain Jerome Liberty-DNA watch features a medallion on the case back that depicts the flame of liberty lighting up the stars and stripes of the American flag. Only 125 limited edition pieces of the Liberty Enlightenment watch will ever be made, marking the 125th anniversary of the national monument.
