Tag Heuer’s new Connected Calibre E4 Porsche Edition smartwatch will let you remotely control features on your Porsche Taycan EV

LVMH’s TAG Heuer and Porsche share a long history of friendship and collaboration spanning over several decades. However, the two iconic brands formally came together to form a strategic partnership in 2019 when Porsche entered the Formula E racing championship with TAG Heuer as title and timing partner. The collaboration has already spawned several special editions, including the co-branded Carrera Sport Chronograph. But for their latest collaborative timepiece, the pair has decided to deviate from traditional mechanical chronographs and introduce a timepiece that puts emphasis on their shared enthusiasm for a high-tech electrified future. Behold the new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 – Porsche Edition, a special edition smartwatch that can remotely control certain features of the user’s Porsche.

The special edition timepiece is based on the 45mm version of the Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E4 that features a case made of titanium with a sandblasted black diamond-like carbon (DLC) finish and a black ceramic bezel. As seen in the pictures here, the Porsche Edition utilizes the stunning Frozen Blue Metallic color of Taycan on things like the “100” marker and Porsche script on the bezel and on the buttons and the Tag Heuer shield on the rubber-coated crown. The hue also makes its presence on the stitching running down the black calf-skin leather strap. The special edition also sports a commemorative engraving surrounding the caseback sensor suite.

As far as the specs of the Porsche Edition are concerned, they are identical to the regular 45mm Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E4 watch. Its sensors include a heart rate monitor, a compass, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a barometer, and a microphone, in addition to an embedded NFC chip for seamless use with touch-free pay systems. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ processor and runs on Google’s Wear2 operating system. However, there are a few things that help the special edition stand out. There’s a special Circuit watch face that’s exclusive to the Porsche Edition. Additionally, the watch can also be paired with certain Porsche models, offering the information like the vehicle’s total mileage, the car’s current charge level and estimated range (for electric models) on the watch face itself. The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Porsche Edition will officially be available for sale starting in September and could be yours for $2,750.
